Successful Grant

After several years of trying, we are pleased to announce we were successful in securing a 2024 AFG grant (Assistance to Firefighters Grant) from FEMA. The Grant in the amount of $114.000.00. This comprised of 86% of the funds needed to purchase 25 sets of turnout gear at a total cost of $131.200.00. This will outfit 25 firefighters with new coat, pants, boots, gloves, hoods, and helmets. Commercial Truck Accident

Rescue 60 was dispatched @09:30 hrs Monday for a commercial vehicle accident on the 3100 block of Gallitzin Road ( Rt 53 near kid Long Road) in Gallitzin Township. Arriving on scene the crew encountered a refrigerated box truck had left the roadway and overturned. Station 60 was dispatched @09:09 on Good Friday for Motor Vehicle Accident with entrapment on the 1600 block of Black Snake Road in Dean Township. Chief 60 arrived on scene to find a pickup truck had rolled over and struck a tree, with a female confined to the cab. Multi Alarm Building Fire

A first alarm was dispatched 17:37 hrs for a structure fire on the 2300 block of Gallitzin/Coupon Rd, Gallitzin Twp District 71. Rescue, Truck and Engine 60 all responded on the alarm with a total of 18 firefighters The building was originally part of the former Forest Zoo complex and had been converted to a cattle barn by the current owners.
