“Junior Academy”

Our first ever Junior Academy is in the books!
20 junior firefighters from several area companies from Cambria and Blair Counties completed the 16 hour program when they were bussed to the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy in Lewistown on Sunday.
After a welcoming address from Fire Academy Administrator Harvey Boyer the group was given a tour of the facility.
Then it was off to WORK, completing 5 prescribed stations over an 8 hour period, the students were challenged both mentally and physically!
Rotating in teams each was tasked with, forcible entry, standpipe operations and hose management, ground ladders, followed by a full run in assignment on a residential building. Finally they completed the SCBA confidence course.
WELL DONE EVERYONE !

A Special Thank You to
